Today was the day we weaned Amapola and Elan away from each other. Although some may think of this as cruel, I assure you that this is a natural process that happens in the wild. And although we physically move them in our care, it is the safest option for both the mares and the weanling. And so far, so good. We haven't noticed any serious issues since the weaning. Amapola deffinently seems the most relaxed with it but even Elan is relaxing and eating his own food away from the fence line separating him from the others. Couldn't have expected a better time.
